Garden Tips for September
No kidding! Tonight’s weather forecast in the Front Range… 30 degrees with snow. It’s not too late to take some precautions to protect your sprinkler system if you have not yet winterized (blown out) your irrigation system, thus avoiding costly repairs in the Spring.
Follow these easy steps to protect your sprinker system by draining your pressure vacuum breaker:
Inside: Turn sprinklers water valve off (Usually in basement or crawl space)
Loosen inside cap by hand (Careful not to loose cap or seal)
Outside: Turn both blue valves to 45 degrees
Turn both test cocks screws to 45 degrees (Side of vacuum breaker)
Loosen outside cap by hand (Careful not to loose cap or seal)
